DESCRIPTION
Project Brief
Whiskers Pub is a casual alternative to the more formal Dining Room within Penn State’s legendary Nittany Lion Inn. Whiskers sought eye catching posters that would be displayed within the hotel and play up this casual and friendly option for it's guests.
Approach
The decor within Whiskers is reminiscent of turn-of-the-century taverns replete with dark wood and cut glass within the bar and seating area. Keeping this look in mind, I designed the both the menu and fun mustache poster with typefaces from this era, adding in vintage styled lines and artwork. The same casual and fun approach is applied to the football poster, displaying an old-school football play of X's and O's drawn up on a chalkboard.
Outcome
The posters have been on display within the Inn, and are a model of the style Whiskers pieces will be designed in the future.
